Hi

I am new to the Forums, I have just purchased my Polo SE 1.0 and I am picking it up Wednesday! YAY!

It comes with the 5.8" comp media screen with bluetooth (like the golfs) however I didn't chose MirrorLink because I didn't know about it until after

I wondered is this something that I can easily install myself? Is it just a plug and play type of device or is it impossible to add aftermarket?

Also, from research it's near impossible to add Navi to this system, or does someone much smarter than me know a way?!

Hi there , congrats on the car you'll love it. I have a 1.2 SEL and it drives beautifully. As for the MirrorLink, i believe they all come with it, but if you don't opt for it as an extra which is £150 - the feature is locked.. All you need to do is visit a VW retailer and buy the activation code for it.. Ill take a picture later and show you, because that is what mine says.. It says something like 'please enter activation code for this feature' so one would assume its just a case of purchasing it for £150..

I believe Nav is impossible to add without changing the whole system, from what i have read on the MK7 Golf forums.

Thanks for the response - yeah I can't wait to pick it up!! Came with a few extras like spoiler, winter pack, cruise control, parking sensors and I think camera... First time of getting a brand new car so I went all out lol!

Ahh that's handy to know, thanks! Although I have just found out iPhone isn't compatible so will have to dig out my old android, I only want it for the maps and music, nothing else lol...

Just picked up my new Polo SE, and for some reason I don't see the MDI anywhere?? Just an AUX and USB port below the screen... Am I being blind, or have the mistakenly not included it as it is noted in all the spec details and brochures...

Is it in the glovebox. Top left?

Think there's a compartment in the glove box floor if I remember corretly when I had a look at one

That's where you are suppose to store the manual for the car. There is a plug in the glove box


The one with the wire plugged in to here.

Ok, I'll double check when I'm home later, but don't think I saw anything at all in the glove box that looked like the port.. But hopefully it is!

Nope, nothing there, I'm going to call VW tomorrow as it is listed on the spec of the SE
