I run a 1.9TDi Sport and as I can have a lease car I want a Polo GT.(They are cheaper on company car tax than fabia vRS or Ibiza as the emissions are Euro 1V

Does anyone know if they are available to order yet or anticipated delivery dates?

I was speaking to a woman from VW yesterday and she said the " The Polo GT will be available to order in 2-3 weeks with deliveries starting end of August, but you'd be better waiting until September for a new reg"

As for the tax I'm pretty sure they'll be the same as VRs and Ibiza.

Thanks.

The vRS and Ibiza aren't Euro IV and apparently the GT will be. So for the same cost/tax as a vRS I can have the GT. Question is will it be much better than the 100 TDi Sport?

Take a look on www.vw.co.uk
under new developments there's the Polo GT I think i says the tax bandings but not 100% sure.

Consider this aswell, AMD can chip the GT upto 185bhp for £550. Now that'l surprise a few people in Cooper S's.

Yes it confirms that it's in the cheapest company car tax banding! I was thinking about a Cooper S because they're cheap to lease, but the tax and the fuel consumption is the killer, along with the slightly naff image!

Never thought about a chip, with it being a lease car, if it blows up, I suppose I could just revert to standard spec!!!

Most chip tuners give a warranty so if anything goes wrong with the car because of the chip or remap they cover the cost.

You could also check out www.revotechnik.com they do a remap which is undetectible so the lease comapny or VW wouldn't know unless they drove the car.

You'd just have to make sure you had it reverted to normal before handing the car back over.

yes! and its faster than the cooper S in acceleration so around a bendy road you can pick up quicker after bends, if thats what your after 8)

Glad to have helped.

I just need to decide between a chipped GT and fully loaded Lupo GTi. Residuals don't matter cos I'l be off loading it to my little sis in 2 years when she reaches 17.

Any suggestions?

Go for the GT, Lupo's a bit old and too expensive.

I think the GT will be the car I go for I just need to find out what insurance group it's gonna be in. Still being a 20 year old unfortuantely may rule it out if it's much higher than group 11.

I don't spose the lease company told you did they?

Ibiza 130Tdi is group 8, Skoda vRs is 9, my Polo Sport 100 Tdi is 6, so the Gt will be less than 11

That's what I'm hoping but sometimes you never know vith VW. I'll go into the garage tommorrow ask them a few questions about it.

Just have to get rid off my piece of **** megane coupe now and take a £2k loss on it but at least I'll have a good car in september.

you're sister will be lucky to get insurance on a Lupo GTi if she's only seventeen! They're group 12 AFAIK.

At 17 she will be lucky to get insured on a GT. I think you should sit her down and talk to her about the curse by the name of insurance so she can stop dreaming about the faster cars that we all dreamt about when we were younger before we learnt the realities of motoring.
