What sort of price is good for a MK3 Coupe? I'm looking at getting something tidy, 1300cc, 5 speed, but I've seen them priced from everywhere between £100 and £1500 :?
I don't know where to begin.

its hard to put an exact price on it.

it depends on if you are looking for a 1300 Cl or a GT, the Gt wood be more xpensive id imagine. Milage shoodnt be too much of a problem as most mk3s have between 90&110K on them (i think, dont quote me!)

As a rough guide id say betwen £750-£1000 for a good 1, only way you shood be paying more is for a G40 :D

hope that helps

Cheers Robz
(metz youve got a pm)

For something like a late CL, its probably around the 650 to 800 mark. They regularly go for those kind of prices here.

Thanks.

Karl.

I got mine for £350, but was originaly in sale for £450, it's gota few rust patches so thats what probably put it down in price TBH, but I've seen Genesis models (which have a few extras which u wish u had after u haven't got them) go for a bit more money (say £100).

Not muc wrong with it. 1 dent on the back arch and a couple of scratches.

i went out looking for a "grand or less" car and got the 1000, 4 speed, hatch first-of-the-mk3s for 650, two years ago, and that was haggling a fair bit below guidebook price. £800ish for a tidy but toy-less 1300 (CL) 5sp coupe now, with say a K plate?

thats brummie private seller prices mind!

(may have gone upto the grand myself on a 1300 had insurance not been an issue - there was more than £100 difference between groups 4 and 6 with the cheapest agent!)

the prices i quoted were jst rough, i dnt no for sure. My 1st polo a '91 squareback was £250, '92 Fox coupe was bout £300 & got my GT for £600 (haggled down from £800 cos some bits n bobs needed done 2 it although the bodywork was fine)

all depends who you buy from & how much they no about cars....

So I guess I'm just going to have to get out there and see whats about? Oh and by the way, what makes a Genesis so good anyway?

Genesis is the top of the range before you get to the sporty ones (GT/G40). Basically it has all the stuff like rev counter, tinted windows etc.

This car is not for the faint hearted as of any car of its age it has a minor stone chips. The car has had a recent cambelt, brake discs and pads, gaskets the engine also been flushed to de-coke. This car is a dream to drive estimated 90bhp which is a lot for a small car. Very sad to see it go a very reluctant sale. The car i think is a group for with all mofiications. The car is up for sale due to i want a bigger car know.

Im open to offers guys want to get a g40 found out i can finally get insured an i seen one up for sale round my way so wanna get rid of mine an get a beast.

Blimey, you passed your test january this year and you're able to get insurance on a G40? How are you managing that? (I also passed january this year, and that sounds rather nice to me :D )
