Hi Guys,

i've had the car now for a few months and one of the first things i noticed was that the brakes were fairly soft and had quite a bit of fade!

first thng i did was changed to rotor discs and pagid pads on the front, then bled the system and flushed quite a few air bubbles out, i've just changed rear discs and pads with standard parts (and had to have 2 new rear calipers as they were both seized!!) and flushed the fluid thrugh again....

THEY'RE STILL SOOOOO SOFT!!!!

does anyone else have this problem or have a solution :( the only other thing i can think of is uprating to dot 5 fluid and braided hoses coz i've not got the money (or clearance) for brembos yet! :)

Cheers

scott

Ive never really been that impressed with the brakes on my polo gti since Ive had it either.I thought that the pads were knackered but Had it serviced and they said there was loads left on the pads so it cant be that. Im due a brake fluid change which I hope is gonna sort it but I dont think it will. Had better brakes on my golf.

My Brakes seemed really soft for quite a while, turned out i'd boiled the brake fluid too many times lol, that and new front discs and pads and now they seem much better, pedal travel is small and the brakes bite hard, though they occasionly go back to get crap for a day or two

i've got a fair amount of travel in the pedal, the fade has improved with the rotor discs and pagid combo but they're nothing compared to my brakes on my Ibiza!

i've put about a litre of fluid through the sytem so if i'v boiled it i'm hoping i've got rid of it all...

:(

Mine was like this when I bought it

They are soft spongy brakes for sure. I had new pads on the front and new fluid in the system and this made a difference.
