just curious would the rear bumper out of the mk 2 golf big bumper kit fit a square back polo mk 2? with a little persuasion if nessicary? im pretty sure the front bumper will fit so...... just the bk to find out bout. cheers.

Mm, I think they fit given a bit of persuasion.. I seem to remember an article in the DIY forum showing how to do this, although it may have been on a Mk3. Same principle should apply though..

front one will fit no probs just modify it to your bumper irons rear u will have to cut and shut its to big for the polo arse so out comes the grinder and plastic welder

did it a couple of years ago .we
changed the golf iron for the polo one, turned the side clips round the opposite way to what they are now. had to pack out the mounts where it bolts on ,to clear the rear panel it's fiddley but fairly easy.with both bumpers off you will see what you have to do 86c may have a better memory than me ,he helped me do it

sorry thought u ment a golf gti big bumpers not a r and a designs big bumper kit

i'm on about golf big bumpers they look good done well

Tarquin, do you have a picture that takes in the whole of that car with the big bumpers? I'm just trying to get an idea of what it would look like should I ever decide to do the swap

there's not 1 pic anywhere with the golf bumper on
