Hi all!

Could some one please help me to clarify the correct part/ OEM for the 6R Sunglasses holder which sits central with the lighting cluster? I have found the following on eBay, but only for Golf/ Passat etc. Will this fit, or is the Polo holder smaller?

Hi Gringogreen,

On the Polo, the sunglasses holder is either on the globe box (from factory) or replacing the handle that is on the roof (driver side or passenger side, your choice). The one that you've posted doesn't work on the Polo, you need something like this:

I just thought I would be able to fit one as the panel in front of the centre light console is removable, almost as if it was able to take the sunglasses holder I posted a link to.

I tried in the past, also contacted a seller on Aliexpress to have the exact dimensions...and no luck , I'm always thinking in a way to make that spot a bit more usefull

They do mention its for the New Polo so i guess that must fit.

Sorry the links i posted is to fit it near the grab handles and not the centre light console as you are looking for. That space is used for anti theft system in some variants of 6r.

yup. There is no sunglass holder to fit the Polo there... It's the grabhandle or the glovebox or nothing.

Thanks for those links. I think I will try one, as I'm used to reaching up for my sunglasses in the gab handle of my van

I find it weird that VW did not design this in or at least a space where it could be fitted, I fitted a grab handle one to my old 2000MY Passat and wife's 2003MY Polo, one of the first things I noticed missing on my 2011MY S4 was a sun glasses storage place - and was just going to ask on that forum when I noticed that the space between the sun visors moved - that is where it was! Sounds like something similar should have been made for Polo 6R/6C !
