Additional such as gap insurance and service maintenance

Are they good value for money? Thinking about getting it especially the service which cost 12 pounds a month which includes 2 years roadside assistance.

Personally (because I have it) I'd go for the Gap Plus, rather than the standard Gap. IHMO, you shouldn't even consider finance without some sort of back-up. I know one person who wrote-off a car, then continued to pay for it for the next couple of years.
However, upon "getting into the figures" over possible replacements, I have come to realise that what one dealer charges for these packages is not the same as what another charges. Hmm...
I can't say if they're value for money, because I don't know of anyone who's actually claimed through them. Does anyone else?
Also, you should be aware of the legal implications of finance re: who actually owns it - I wasn't fully when I bought the car, and if I knew then what I know now...

Oh yes - I also have the maintenance agreement - haven't had to use it yet. But you do get a nice credit card thing to go in your logbook
I was told that you can put your first MOT on it - i.e. book it a month or so before the car gets to three years old and then any repairs should be covered.
Again (again!!) - I'm not sure if is worth the money, though because I'm now thinking about changing the wheels (and "something else
") which means that the maintenance won't apply to these parts...

In that case I don't need the gap insurance as my Golf px enabled me to pay off a large chunk on the Polo leaving me with around 3K. They gave me a price of 350 per year by the way.
Probably get the service maint as it works out cheaper by a lot!

By the way, got the car on Thursday and love it to bits! No problems as yet *touch wood* Feels a lot better than my Golf but I don't like the feel of the clutch.

I get my digi camera out this weekend and sign on to Yahoo account. However, not much difference as it is a standard car.

I didn't bother with the gap insurance, why bother when you already insure the car, if you write it off claim it back. I took the servicing option though including tyres, at least I have years of worry free motoring now.

just ignore the registration.
