UK-POLOS.NET - THE VW Polo Forum

Hello Folks.

We don't own a Polo at the moment. We did have a quite nice 1978 GLS which we sold about 6 years ago.

We live in Ireland, and for some reason we never got the 6N2 GTi over here, but we did get the Lupo GTi.
In Eire the Lupo GTi cost 30% more than in the UK. Rip off Ireland is spot on.

So I need advise on what colours where available.

All of the cars we have checked out are Red, Black or Silver.
Were there any White ones?

The only interior cloth holstery colour appears to Grey with Red trim.
Were Black or Charcoal Grey cloth interiors ever available?

Red, black and silver are the only colours that the GTI was available in.

Interior wise, Dark Grey with Red Trim was the only interior choice, or alternatively full black leather.

and full beige leather.

Agreed never heard of or even seen it with full beige leather; seen it in a similar year Golf V5 but not a 6N2 Polo; mine was full black leather, VVT, 6 CD changer, headlight washers, etc. so for a 51 Reg that was pretty damn impressive, I look back fondly! Alex may know or recall but I think there were some numbers on the production run of interiors for the original Polo GTI floating around the Forum... Actually are we talking about a Lupo GTI or Polo 9N3 GTI here although the Lupo was very similar anyway, same engine I think? I've only ever seen Red or Silver Lupo GTI's, never seen a Black one funnily enough - most of them probably crashed!!

Sure, I'm driving one. It's really rare. I also read the Polo brochure and the GTI chapter mentioned both black and beige as an optional leather color. Mine is in perfect condition and I treat it carefully.
