I knew the BlueGT was awesome on fuel, but not as awesome as it appears currently!
Had 58MPG travelling to work this morning (30/40/70 - mixture)

Out of my first tank averaging 44mpg, and long term is 39mpg currently. Done 170 Miles and apparently got 255 left, which is about 100 miles improvement on my previous car!! Car has done less than 300 miles..

Anyone else had good MPG?

Only thing is, it does drink it really quickly if you boot it, but that's expected. I really didn't think a new engine would be this good this early, but I'm pleased! Thought it would take at least 1000/2000 miles

My consumption is very similar. Like a diesel but with cheaper fuel and non carcinogenic emissions. What's not to like?

Mine is not that different either. (Unless I use th GT part of the car... And THEN it's a whole different story. )

regularly getting high 50's on motorway runs and not driving like a saint either, surprised how well the car pulls when loaded and from 60-70+mph. According to the on board computer my current longterm average is 51.2mpg

Hi everyone - newbie here in Ireland. Brilliant site for info. my long-term average is sitting at 48.5mpg - the car was new in February and has 4k on the clock. Mixed a-roads and country lanes get me around 58mpg commuting most days, 48-ish on the motorway at 70, and 45 recently, while lugging a 600kg trailer up steep hills on a 70 mile round trip. Steady 70+ speeds do drag it down quickly, but overall I'm really impressed.

Anyone else notice how sometimes the cars range drops quickly as does the needle even if you're not booting it everywhere? I average about 45MPG...

I would presume it's because the car has only had 350 miles ish..

I've been getting good economy out of mine, getting 54-55mpg per tank but only when the weather stays above 10°C. It's rare I see anything below 50 unless I'm hooning it around a country road at the weekend. I easily do over 400 miles before filling up again and that's with a good 70 miles left according to the trip computer. It's a fantastic little car.

I've found that both economy and performance are measurably better on Shell Nitro thingy fuel than bog standard petrol. The extra miles more than refund the premium. I don't usually believe marketing hyperbole but it was the preferred tipple of my Arbath which gave similar results.

It says 160 Miles left (done 260 Miles), despite doing 40 Miles or so between each notch.. And it's on the one to the left of halfway... I'll see what I get total..

The cars MPG is like 35MPG when you're stuck in a traffic.. Got 40MPG on way home.. Worst I've had either direction in 11 days lol..

It calculates from the way you are driving at that moment... Of course it will drop faster with stop and go traffic and speed going up and down, if the engine is cold or optimal operating temperature, how many degress it is outside, if there is a headwind. Not to mention elevations (no matter how minimal they might be).
A lot of factors come in to play on how much your engine have to work to keep the desired speed.
And therfore the range can drop or increase at eny given time you look at it.

I have more time than I can count had more miles left on a tank after arriving than I had leaving home if I have been driving economical.

It's not a precision tool. But just a guide to give you some idea of how long you can go

Could get used to this, 390 Miles from one full tank two weeks ago , the range estimator now says 400 Miles but I have a hunch that'll go up when I drive to work tomorrow

Managed to achieve 64mpg today, drove like an OAP though . 90% motorway, 10% town. Still, very impressed!

managed to do 350 miles in a tuned 1.8 gti 95% motorway at motorway speeds

that really surprised me tbh
