Suspension & Ignition problem

Dear all,

Sorry I cant find the forum for VW POLO Year 2003!!!

I have a couple of questions regarding my VW POLO (1.4 year 2003).

1. I have to turn the ignition for the second time to get it started

2. When I drive over an uneven surface (bumps etc) I hear squeaking noise in the front passenger Wheel.

I took it to the local mechanic and he told me he checked it and the problem 1) need switch ignition replaces and problem 2) needs the wheel suspension arm replaced.

Since he asked me for quite a substantial amount of money I would like to be sure before I part with the money. Does anyone think this could well be the cause.

Many thanks in advance

frex

Ignition switch, well if he says it is U/S then I'd expect it to be U/S. Noises from front suspension, sound like track control arm rear locating bushes knackered. He might be wanting to replace the complete assembly(s) that holds the bush(s), plus he might be quoting for carrying out a full four wheel realignment - that would explain a high cost, but probably necessary. Getting a good VAG indie to replace the bushes on both sides might be the better, but maybe same cost option.

Edit:- oh "WELCOME" and this is the correct forum for the 2003 9N Polo.
