yes it should fit. I've updated the list of engines it will fit.

Regarding improvements it's hard to say as it was added when I had the car remapped and exhaust fitted. A lot of people on here have fitted them to GTI's so might be worth doing a search or asking someone who's fitted one to a GTI.
