Easily. Just be wary of your speed ie 30 is around 33/34

Yeah stops losing the backend though equally crap front tyres won't do you many favours

Gonna be fun when there's several speed cameras on the way!

Hmm, well all 4 tyres now have similar wear (fitted within 3 months of each other) and although I could sell them and put 45's on them I've just had the front two fitted and having to pay for a new clutch now.

Perhaps a silly question, but why are you running a 195/55/15 on a 6N2? On a 15 inch wheel, you should be running a 195/45/15 or youll send the speedo out off the scale</QUOTE>

I don't know the spec of the OPs car - but are you sure they should be 45 profile? I'm fairly confident 45 profile are only specified on the Polo GTI. All other models will use 55 or higher profile.

And the speedo error is being over exaggerated. IF the standard size was indeed 195/45-R15, and have been replaced by 195/55-R15 - the speedo error at 60 mph is an over-reading of 4.2 mph, and at 100 mph the over-reading is 7.0 mph - ie 7%. Bearing in mind that the UK and EU official speedo legal tolerances are minus 0% and plus 10%. In layman's terms, that means a speedo can never under-read, but can over-read by up to 10%. In reality, ALL analogue speedos over-read (the actual margins vary by manufacturer - Ford and the rice burners were typically the worst offenders, German and General Motors were usually the better).

So . . . all that being said, fitting the 55 series tyres when (and if) 45 should have been standard will merely adust the speedo back towards the genuine speed of the car, rather than the -0 +10 legal tolerances.

All 6N and 6N2 polos are factory spec of a 195/45 on a 15 inch wheel
