What parts do I need and does any modification need to be done to fit the OEM armrest for the 6r? :D

Maybe look at this parts cat - http://www.partscats.info/

What you need will depend on if you want to make it 100% original or do a slightly carve up job.

I always wanted to fit this mod to wife's previous 9N Polo but she rejected that as it would get in the way.

Now she has a 6R C0 Polo 1.2TSI 110 SEL, so she will need to get used to having an arm rest - okay it folds back when not in use. I could live with the arm rest down all the time with my old B5 Passat but the garage always folded it back! I can live with my B8 S4 arm rest fully extended and raised slightly, with the 6R C0 Polo, I need to have the arm rest out of the way all the time when driving and what annoys me a bit is, if you start with the handbrake on and the arm rest vertical and out of the way, you can't drop the arm rest down far enough for the "ratchet" to engage so that you can ease it back to "your" correct and locked in place height - I find that strange as if it is lowered etc to "your" correct and locked height, operating the handbrake is problematic. I still like the idea though, could have been better thought out though.

Nice. How does the fitting work? I can't see where it would attach.

Wouldn't be without mine, love it and makes driving more comfortable especially longer journeys. For when and what you use the handbrake for I've never seen the problem. Definatley worth choosing a model with one fitted .
