Do they fit as normal? Same connections?

I just fit some LED rear lights to my 6R and its blown my fuse so I am sending them back. Now my passenger side rear light does not work. Would anyone be able to help me and tell me which fuse I need to change to rectify this? Thinking of getting the 6C lights as they look better.

The lights themself fit perfectly. But the connections are different.

Ciclo here on the forum have made this guide to making adapters between the 6R plug and the 6C lights.

I have just tried to attach the new 6C headlights to the polo 6R polo with the above adapters and I am getting a bulb error showing on the dashboard and my indicators are flicking very fast, can anyone help me with this?

I suppose you have these adapters (RHD)


If so and wires are in the same positions that you see in the pic, make sure adapters are placed correctly for each side.
Just like in the pic. L-R

maybe visually verify the correct functioning of all lights at the back?

- indicator left and right
- brake lights
- fog
- reverse
- parking lights

fast blinking indicator is a sign of a not correctly functioning indicator light somewhere

Hi guys,

Looking at your diagrams Ciclo, it seems I have the pins set up for left hand drive and so the reverse is the wrong hole on the connector! Would this explain why I have no back lights at all? I can easily swap them around I think, just need to change from pin 1 to 2 on the left adapter and pin 5 to 6 on the right hand adapter right? Since the adapters came from Germany in left hand drive will they still all be wired correctly as long as the pins above are switched around?

What color are the connectors that you plug into the taillights? Brown or Black ?
If you have taillights for RHD they should be brown. P number: 6C0972706

Looks like i bought the left hand drive version by mistake.....is there any way to change the left hand drive set to right hand drive?

yes, go to your dealer and order 2 of the parts that ciclo mentioned. then switch the 2 black blocks for the brown blocks

Do not worry boj27, I make many mistakes every day. It is easily solved by buying the brown connectors at the dealership and change them as iichel has above mentioned.
Place the wires just like the diagram on this page. Good luck!! Tell us the results.
