UK-POLOS.NET - THE VW Polo Forum

Hi all, I have a 2005 Polo 1.4 16V with engine code BKY. The waterpump has destroyed itself and engine has cooked itself and belt has jumped.
I'm looking for a replacement engine but BKY are quite rare. Does anyone know if the BBY engine is the same as there are quite a few for sale?
Spec is exactly the same if I read it correct...

The BBY engine, as you will know, is an older engine, so might have different/not compatible ECU and other things. I can't say if you can just swop them over with no additional costs and problems.
