6N 1.0L misfire at high speeds

Post by woodbpete »

Hello all,

I've got a problem with my VW polo 1.0 1999, when bought it had a misfire so replaced cylinder head/ gasket and ran fine. Now a few months on the engine has started cutting out, ok at low speeds but as soon as you floor the accelerator it starts to misfire and then eventually cuts out. Looked at the Haines manual, has many possible solutions, but does anyone know what it most likely is?

Thankyou

Have you checked sparks, leads, distributor, temperature sensor, fuel filter

Yes checked some of these things but now the car suddenly drives fine again, assuming it was just damp that caused it as it had been sat for a week with heavy rain?

Thanks
