GTI Waiting times
GTI Waiting times
I've just placed an order for a 5 door GTI and they are saying 4 months.
How long have you been waiting for your GTi?

Re: GTI Waiting times
I ordered mine a week before Christmas and have a build date of 01/02/16. So probably mid March. Makes it 3 month wait in total. That's a 5 door with quite a few options on it.

Re: GTI Waiting times
Ordered mine last week. Same build week of 01/02/16 so two and a bit months. The trick as I've now found is too find out the build weeks and as VW has had a bit of a sales dip it's cheaper to get a lease nearer the build week so all slots are full. I imagine it's the usual economy of scale at play. Same works for booking flights I find I've upgraded for the same cost as a normal flight a few times by leaving until the last minute. That said I've lost out a few times as well so it's a bit of a risk for both!!

Re: GTI Waiting times
Ordered beginning of oct...offered further discount to cancel and reorder. Did this the second week of November. I'm on stage 5a of the tracker since yesterday - on its way to the dealer.

Re: GTI Waiting times
Ordered mine last Saturday and was told 5 months
Mine is a 5 door DSG so not sure if that's why. Dealer told me it was because they are built in South Africa but then on the big Polo GTI thread on here someone said they are built in Spain still, so not sure what to believe!
I haven't got an order number to track it online though.

Re: GTI Waiting times
Ordered mine just before Christmas and my build week has been scheduled for 18th January which is tomorrow , although I had no choice for options as the broker already had a build spot booked for base model vehicle.

You should get your SLI number after about 3 days maximum. I would chase your dealer.the_bakerboy3685 wrote:Ordered mine last Saturday and was told 5 months

Re: GTI Waiting times
I was flicking through the dealerships iPad and found the stock page. Found four tabs for the polo.
1. Polo
2. Polo (EU)
3. Polo
4. Polo (SA)
The stock for GTI's was under number two

Re: GTI Waiting times
dealers get allocated so many cars a month so if you don't fall into the month you ordered you have to wait until the next
they won't tell you this and make up excuses like options or build location.
i waited 4 months for mine which is about the same as my first polo

Re: GTI Waiting times
This is why I've always ordered from Lease hire companies as they hunt around until they find the right price and the right dealer with the right allocation. So long as you make it a condition of sale to the lease company it means they're doing the leg work for you.Dink wrote:dealers get allocated so many cars a month so if you don't fall into the month you ordered you have to wait until the next
