Just looking on fleabay at retro fit kits for comfort indicators.

It appears that the kits advertised for mk3 Golfs are the compatible ones if your looking for an OEM kit. There is a German company with the unfortunate name of cum_cartech which do an aftermarket kit. Has anyone used or heard of them? You could argue their kit is better than the OE kit as its a plug and play loom as apposed to the hard wire option.

Any advice appreciated,

Let me know Alex, I'm gonna have to put it off this month, my dishwasher, microwave and the Golf packed up this week! Talk about in 3's.

what does this do - looked on ebay but i still dont get it?

you touch the indicator and it flashes three times? why do you need that?

Makes lane changing indication slightly easier and less chance of leaving indicators 'on' by mistake

The strange thing is, VW made some of these kits available for certain models, but very few people knew about their availability so mainly they ended up on ebay via people buying up old stock being disposed of.

I got one of my daughter's to buy me a kit in from Germany back in 2005 (for Christmas!) - it was aftermarket and used FETs for the controlled switching, I did nothing with that kit - and still have it, what I did do, was soon after this, spot the real thing on ebay and bought it - I think it was suitable for my 2000MY B5 Passat and some Golfs - actually it was mainly made up from bits already used on some Audis, kit was very easy to fit with only a few wires needing to be removed from one connector and refitted to a new connector. What prompted this was the fact that my wife's 2003MY Polo had that feature - so I just had to have it too!

Now what a few people want to do with the newer cars is to change the number of flashes when using comfort indicators!

I wanted it as my last 4 cars have had it. The problem is, I jump in the Polo and flick the indicator stalk at the first turn and everyone just gets a brief blink of my indicators at best because I've forgot it hasn't got the comfort feature.

I can justify it as a safety feature.
