recently serviced
new egr valve
new plugs
new coil packs .....

fed up of chucking money at it .....

only things i havent changed are lambda sensors.....

any ideas guys ????

Have you had it scanned with VCDS?

I haven't yet mate no.... Will do this evening.

Unrelated topic , the service reset needs doing , could this have anything to do with the emissions light ???

As for the service reset, no thats unrelated

Easy to reset though. Push the trip button in with the ingition off. Turn ignition on whilst still holding then turn the trip button to the left and itll reset.

I also fitted a k&n panel filter , would this have caused any emissions problems ?

If its an oiled filter, it mightve damaged the sensor on the MAF

Just a late thought, I think that all the petrol engines in these cars have MAP sensors in the inlet manifold which get covered in oil mist anyway, so that will not be the issue.

As suggested, you really need to get it scanned, a cheap scan tool can be bought for roughly £30 and it will give engine fault codes that turn up too often with some of these engines, avoids guessing though does not necessary tell you exactly what the root cause of that problem is, only the current fault codes which should help the average DIYer to sort things out.

Google is your friend after reading the fault code(s).
