Is it normal for the drivers side rear to be lower than the passenger side rear?

The difference is 6mm I know the spare and battery are on that side but surely vw compensated for that? ?

Took it in to VW and they acknowledged there is a difference but that there isn't any problem with the suspension or anything and no action taken.
