Re: Polo 6R ABS CODING
Sorry, I made a mistake.
This is my coding:
210228E3217200BA842914E984D800401700
Some time ago you suggested me to change:
- byte 2 from "28" to "48"
- byte 10 from "14" to "12"
So the final coding should be : 210248E3217200BA842912E984D800401700
But it's rejected.
What else can I do?

Re: Polo 6R ABS CODING
Yes, I entered "40168".
Then I pasted the new long-coding, clicked on "Do It", but it says "coding rejected"

Thanks for that message. Also when I did finish I saved a full autoscan.. Will upload in 10-20 minutes. I'm using my phone.
But, I don't understand, you used this coding: viewtopic.php?f=56&t=68290&start=60#p510381
230224E3416E00B7C42624E782D400821300
and the ABS unit accepts this coding: viewtopic.php?f=56&t=68290&start=75#p510394
230224E3416E00B7C42624E782D400921200 without hill-hold control.
82/92 What happened here?
I haven't been on here for a long time, thought I'd catch up. Hill-Hold control works I tried it and works perfect. It helps a lot! Also thanks for the coding again!

It means your coding is wrong. I would recommend use your original coding first. Then keep changing the coding one bit at a time, save the coding, then change the next bit, so you know which bit of coding is wrong.
Hope it helps!

Re: R: Polo 6R ABS CODING
I tried to modify one bit at a time, but the coding is always rejected..
Could it mean the coding I have now is wrong even if it was accepted (2 years ago)?

Re: Polo 6R ABS CODING
No you must change both bytes simultaneously. They are dependent on eachother.
The ABS unit only accepts very few codings. It must be correct with your powertrain configuration, VIN, brake type and chassis type.
210228E3217200BA842914E984D800401700
These are the highlighted bytes 2 and 10.
HEX 28 = BIN 0010 1000
HEX 14 = BIN 0001 0100 (inversed of 28)
needs to be
HEX 48 = BIN 0100 1000
HEX 12 = BIN 0001 0010 (inversed of 48)

What can I do to make the right coding accepted?
It keeps rejecting it...

Re: R: Polo 6R ABS CODING
Well, I figured out most of it!
Front 256mm - Rear drums:
Byte 2 "24" - Byte 10 "24"
Front 256mm - Rear 232mm:
Byte 2 "28" - Byte 10 "14"
Front 288mm - Rear 232mm:
Byte 2 "48" - Byte 10 "12"
Front 288mm - Rear drums:
Byte 2 "44" - Byte 10 "22"
Front 312mm - Rear 232mm: (not 100% sure about this)
Byte 2 "48" - Byte 10 "24"
I tried all theese combinations and the only coding accepted are for:
- 256 front and 232 rear
- 256 front and drums rear
All the others are rejected!
I guess it's because my ABS Unit is too old and should have a firmware upgrade or should be replaced with a newer one.

Re: Polo 6R ABS CODING
312mm front discs and 256mm rear discs are only found in ESP 9.0 (Polo WRC, Polo GTI 6C, Polo 6R after 2013)

Re: Polo 6R ABS CODING
Hi Jay-Jay,
Its good you asked this as my brakes are nearly finishing. I think i have 256mm front brakes and I was going to upgrade them to 288mm (if they fit) and ask help for coding.
Would anyone know if 288mm would fit?
I have a Polo 6R 1.2 TDI 2012.

Re: Polo 6R ABS CODING
You are wlecome!
You need to change the hubs, because with 256mm front discs the caliper-carriers are integrated in the hubs.
288mm front discs require Lucas or ATE FN3 calipers with a caliper-carriers separated from the hubs.
It's not a cheap upgrade, but I can tell you it's worth it!
I did it and I would not come back: even if my ABS Unit doesn't accept the right coding (so I have too much pressure on the front calipers and ABS kicks in too early), the car stops in less space and, when I press on the brake pedal, the velocity drops down amazingly!

Correct ABS coding for 312mm front and 232mm rear:
