2003 1.4 Polo 9N.

The clear screen of the instrument binnacle is marked with nail polish remover. I have no idea how or why. Its not mine of course.

Anyway, I presume it could be cleared using methods similar to renovating plastic headlights, but can anyone tell me whether the transparent face can be separated from the rest of the unit in such a way that a new one can be stuck on? This seems to be an easier solution.

I don't know what you can do about that, I've always considered that that clear cover is very soft so needed to be avoided touching with anything. For what it is worth, my wife bought a new Polo 1.2TSI 110PS SEL back in August last year, it has a mark on that cover and I've asked her not to try to do anything to it as it will end up much worse!
