Evening Chaps & Chapettes,

I've had the wheels refurbed today at Metal Magic in Barnsley. They were done on the drive-in / Same day service and the final cost was £170 for all four wheels. I must say i'm well impressed especially as i didn't even drop the car off till 1000 instead of 0730-0800 due to me breaking down on the way, and they were still ready for just gone 5!!!

A couple of people were interested in seeing what they turned out like so i've added the following piccies of before refurb and after refurb wheels.

I spoke to them when i picked up the car this eveing and they advise that the current earliest date they have for same day service is 26th October so we're talking roughly a 3 month waiting list.

I've got a price list and contact details somewhere which if people want the info i'll post if required..

Anyhow the piccies.................

Two pics of one of the wheels before being refurbed......

BUMP

I was just wondering when I was idly looking back at some of the old posts... waveydavey, how are your alloys holding up now, 7 months since the refurb? I'm just interested to know if they're still looking as good as they did back in August or if you've had any further problems with corossion? :D

Aye up Si,

They're still lookin good...... Well not at the moment cos i've not had chance to clean the car in around 3 weeks and its got a BIG thick layer of dirt all over it. But yeah they are still going good.

Cheers

Dave.

P.S.

How'd you get that "Drives" section on the info panel down the left of the page??? :o

Hmmmm - I think they will - the join between the centre section and the rim will alow moisture ingress and the paint/powder will lift given time

So the cure is... split the rims apart, strip all lacquer/paint off centres and rims, then repaint from the bare metal up, finishing with lacquer before bolting the two parts back together? Does that sound like a cure for the corrosion?

one option - yes
