Hi, I've seen a few people have swapped their chrome badges for the red ones. Just wondering if anyone can tell me how the fit them.
I've found the oem badges for both the polo and the golf but the clips on the back look completely different;

Looks strange, dont know how they should click it to the grill? Maybe all the clips would fit when clicking on to the honeycomb

May not be a new red GTI badge, but a red vinyl badge skin applied to the existing chrome badge.

I cut the clips off and used double sided foam numberplate tape to fix it.

So the original badge will unclip from the grille and the red one can be stuck on in its place?

Cheers, didn't fancy picking all the letters off each badge and being left with both in pieces!
Will I need to get behind the grille to remove it or is it a just case of being firm but gentle?

Hmmm - I was firm and not particularly gentle. With a dremel.
I couldn't get the grill off anyway.

Another option:
Remove just the letters from the plastic plate on the grille using fishing line (like you would on the boot) and then buy a boot version of the badge (i.e. just the letters) which you can then stick to the plate which is still attached to the grille.

I did it the exact same way with this result:

I did the same. Really easy to do and no need to take bits off the grill.
