2004 1.4 petrol Polo P0442 code

Evaporative system leak. Surprised to get no results from a search, so:
I can clear it but it comes back after a couple of days. Fuel cap sealing is often the cause, but not in this case.
Does this car have the canister with a solenoid behind the OSR wheel arch liner? Or is it near the fuel tank?
How can I test the evap. purge valve?
Has anyone found leaks in evap. tubes, and where?
On the Saab, there are NRVs in the evap. system which stick open. Any on the Polo?
