Personally I wouldn't bother on a 1.0. It'd just sound crap. But each too their own,.

Well, you'd be lucky to get it sounding sporty b ut if you don't go over the top with ridiculous exhaust etc you should at least be able to get it sounding less horribly whiney as the 1 litre does as standard.. just a standard induction kit should help, put in some cold air ducting if you're worried about that...

you could always learn to love that vacuum cleaner-eqsue howl, and the tractor-like burble at idle.

it could do with improvement, thats badly true, but think about how much it might hurt your brain if that does away with the lovely quiet cruising to be had in the middle-lower range.. at least get something you can swap back out easily when you have to leave the show area and drive 400 miles back home :D

</tangent>

or you could try making a hole in your exhaust and disguise it as natural rust if mr plod wants to take a look... it'll sound much the same as the average extra-large "chrome bean can" back end :D
(when my entire rear pipe decided to make a break for freedom last year, the one positive point about it was how i could pretend to be driving something with an enormous V8 stuffed under the bonnet... 8) til i rounded the corner and people saw me! :lol:)

Got my back-box and tailpipe from Powerflow. The main reason I changed my exhaust was for looks (didnt like the skinny rusty pipe!) When I went to collect it, it sounded very different 2 what I was expecting! If ur afta a more sporty sound then I'd say get what I av, a friend thought a 1.0 wud sound crap 2 loud, its louder than we expected and havent had any negative comments!
Ps I went to Powerflow at c**t, it cost £140

Go down the induction kit route first though, coz that will only cost you about £30 to do, and it gives a really nice deep sound to it.

With you having the one litre engine, the AAU, it uses the round airfilter and air box. You have to remove this completely and get an airbox off a 1.4 SPI Golf/Passat and use that instead. Then simply stick you choice of induction kit on the end, and jobs a good 'un.

Here's mine:

i have also done the induction kit! when you put your foot down the noise is unbelieveable! (for a 1.0ltr) mines a green air filter, i would recomend that! :lol:
