Excellent car. I used to have one (same colour, 5 doors) and it was a true monster. Stage 2+ at around 400bhp

Sorry to sound a bit stupid but what is ceramic coating? I'm assuming it's to do with the paintwork?
Cheers

Its a ceramic polymer polish that forms a 'skin' over the pain making it more resilient to fallout, acid damage, rain, light scratches etc.

I know you did, I've seen it on mk5golfgti forumsalexperkins wrote:Excellent car. I used to have one (same colour, 5 doors) and it was a true monster. Stage 2+ at around 400bhp
Pretty much what Alex said it forms a nano-ceramic technology to create a skin over the paint, this skin forms a barrier that resists fallout, acid and alkaline damage from Ph2-Ph12, so just shy of bleach and acid. Resists temperature damage from -40 to 250 degrees (I doubt this though but don't actually need it), it's swirl resistant and makes it very easy to clean. Also adds unrivalled shine.PoloBlueGT wrote:Sorry to sound a bit stupid but what is ceramic coating? I'm assuming it's to do with the paintwork?

Re: Mk5 Golf Edition 30
So where is the best place to get this from and is there any particular method to applying it?

I bought it directly from Gtechniq and they send instructions, if you're not familiar with working with coatings I recommend just using the exo v3 as it can be removed easily.PoloBlueGT wrote:So where is the best place to get this from and is there any particular method to applying it?
Basically you apply it with a microfibre sponge in a north south west east motion and then wipe off immediately. (paint should be perfected before hand)
