MFA+ Stuck on Phone menu

I'm in process of adding RNS510 (1T0 035 680 R), MDI (5N0 035 342 E) and BT Premium (3C8 035 730 D).
I have full MFA+ 6R0920870B and I don't have full MFSW at this moment, but I have trip/ok/reset buttons on right stalk.

I can control Audio/Navigation/MFA from this right stalk without problem, however if I enter "Phone" menu in MFA - it will just stuck.
I can't go back, change to other menu, it just don't react on trip buttons, cluster however is still working (time is updated etc.), only way to unlock display is to disconnect battery or BT module.
Maybe anybody had this same problem? I have tried few different codings for Telephone module, but without success.

I can not remember the part numbers but i will tell you my story. I have 1) a Cluster from a GT (used one) 2)a non multifunction steering wheel 3) a RNS315 (used one).

When i talk through (the integrated blutooth) the RNS to the phone and stop the car (turn the key and switch off the engine) and still talk on the phone. When i turn on the
engine the cluster screen is stuck on Phone Menu and it cant reset back.

What i do to reset it back is this. I switch off the engine and wait for the time on cluster to shut off (wait for the screen to completely black out) the milisecond it shut's off
i dial up from my phone another number and at the same time turn on the key (not to turn on engine completely, imagine half distance to power up the electronics, and hold it just a second before turning the engine completely) and AT THE SAME TIME press down the arrow (trip) button of the right wiper switch. And the cluster turns back to the normal menu "consumption" etc. It does not work always with first try. You have to try it like 3 times and synchronize everything. The way i see it it's the vice versa procedure for what stucks it.

I just try to avoid turning off the engine before i have closed the phone but sometimes i forget.

I tried to to fix it with a professional but i couldnt but he suggested another one i could go. When i got the time i will and if i have any news i ll come back at you.

I hope the trick i do helps you for the time being and stop disconnecting battery or module.

I strongly believe we have the same problem.

Hi Retali,
the problem is that I can't even pair my phone because Bluetooth (VW PHONE) is not visible (I think I need to select "New user" first from instrument cluster phone menu but I can't select it because it is stuck;).
So for now this module is totally useless for me as it does not provide any functionality :)
I have been searching trough adaptation channels a way to enable BT and use it only via RNS but I don't see it.

When i went to the local garace for the electrician to take a look at the problem
He tried some stuff with the VCDS and some other stuff and he did something by mistake and had the RNS315 PHONE function been disabled at all. Then he enable it again.

I think the thing he had disabled and then enabled was something to do with "Headset required" something like that. When he enabled it the phone function was disabled. When he disabled headset the rns phone function was enabled.

I hope it helps

but now "Phone" or "Telephone" (I don't know what it displays in English version) is working for you in MFA?
I have VCDS and tried many different coding options, tomorrow I will try to finish MFSW installation and I hope that this will resolve issue, otherwise I have no idea what to do next...

Update:
i have managed to install MFSW on Saturday and now Phone menu works without problem using wheel buttons (right side). Problem solved :)
It is strange, because 6R MFSW contains only left side (audio/radio) buttons, so it should be able to operate by stalks also.

Update 2
Buttons on MFSW are working until we don't use stalks. After first use of right stalk computer buttons (TRIP, OK/RESET), MFA freezes and requires battery disconnect to work again.

Hey, this is a little bit old post but did neither of you get the stalks working properly? I now have this same problem and would just like to understand the root cause for this issue.

I believe I can get things pretty much working if I would install MFSW, but I would be perfectly happy with operating MFD menu's just using the stalks.

Is the integration of stalks and MFSW somehow different with the car? Or could this be some HW level issue with certain stalks? I have verified that the stalks buttons work when on phone menu (by looking at the live data). But phone menu remains frozen.

I think if we can resolve this mystery the world would be a little bit better place :D
