The transmission unit is supposed to be sealed for life. Has anyone ever changed the transmission fluid on the auto box?

Its not a bad idea to change the oil if youve done say 80-100k miles
Only use genuine VW gearbox oil though

How is the fluid changed though?
There isn't a dipstick or filler.
My car has done 72k, and is starting to mess about.
Are the solenoids changeable?

There are filling and draining bungs, and it has to be done with a funnel. Its best entrusted to a local garage as its a fiddly job
The solenoids are changeable, but it requires a full gearbox rebuild.
