Fox engine conversion

Hi I am new to this forum and sorry if this is the wrong place to post a Fox question (have worked on both and they seem very similar).
I have 2 project cars atm but after one of them is finished I am interested in fitting a golf 1.6 16v engine to my fox and was wandering if anyone had done this to a 3 cylinder polo.
Obviously I will need the wiring loom, ecu, manifolds and key from the golf. But are the engine mounts the same?
I'm guessing/hoping I can keep the gearbox and driveshafts from the fox as all the pictures of VW gearboxes I have seen look identical.
Also before people go saying you are better off just buying a golf and driving it, I am genuinly astonished at how well the fox grips through corners (rolls a bit but grips well). All it needs is the ability to overtake without having to plan a runup 3 corners in advance.
I also definitely have the tools and knowledge to do do this conversion so that wont be a problem either.
Thanks in advance for the help guys!
