my daughter has told me she topped up her coolant as there was a light on

she has used a universal top up anti freeze (with coolant)

pretty sure that is wrong, can anyone advise please?

It likely is wrong. You have to use specific coolant in VW engines. Namely OAT coolant

The right stuff to use is G13++

If it’s a universal it’s likely not long life and isn’t purple

You’ll need to have the coolant system flushed to prevent damage to the block.
