Regarding Overheating Issue

Hi guys, Wondering if anyone can help me fix my beauty.

Im currently having over heating issues, I was driving to cornwall the other day and all of a sudden my heating went through the roof and stayed at 110 unless i went over 40 it would shoot over 110 and bring the warning light :!: came on. Its got coolant which is premuim stuff not cheap crap. Also i believe the radiator fan isn't coming on either which means it could be that too.

I assume its the water housing and temp gauge, I have a small amount of mechanical knowledge from motorbikes but cars are different,
Would anyone reckon i could do it by myself?

if anyone can help that would be great!

Cheers guys!

New thermostat, housing and radiator fan switch would be my suggestion and genuine G13++ coolant

It’s not a particularly difficult job. There’s a guide in the DIY section

Use genuine parts where possible or Febi as an alternative. I would change the green temperature sensor too whilst you are at it

Much appreciated for a reply,

I've already come to the conclusion its the water housing and thermostat so ordered a new one of each, Just will have to grab a fan switch to see if thats an issue too, I'll change the housing first then go from there.

Any chance of a link to the thread as i couldn't find it via DIY section.

Cheers bud!
