suspension questions...

Hi all... this is my first legitimate post seeking all you fellow Polo owners thoughts & suggestions regarding an upgrade for the 'dark destoryer'

I've already got some Aktive springs from Euro Car Parts (40mm) and slapped them on... all good. The problem now is... i find the front shox are well and truely past their sell by date (and probbaly the rears too) :(

My question is...
I'm thinking of some Venomotorsport G-Max shox all round.

And also thinking of some JOM lowering spring caps & top mounts.

I've also seen the Supersport lower strut brace.

How about some powerflex bushes (front only), but i dont see a price for them (i suppose i gotta call again & remember to ask this time).

I recently got some Pirelli P's from Pettsy that im planning to coat with some 185/55/14 Yoko A539 rubber, after i get them blinged up llike another user i have seen on this forum... (dub envy)... Nice ride m8!!

What are you thoughts as to the handling/reliability/comfort(lol) & any other general comments that 'spring' to mind

i have recently fitted g40 springs to my gt.however when i save up enough money i am going for the venom edition kit from venom motorsport.

£150 for lowered/uprated shocks and -40mm springs.im going for this as i still want to be able to carry passengers in the back :!:

i also recently fitted a set of powerflex anti roll bar bushes.by shopping aorund i got them for £30 including postage for the pair. in my opinion they seem to have tightened the handling up quite a bit 8)

Im pretty sure that you'll need to run a 185/50/14 tyres on those pirelli p's mate. metz also had a set off me and has fitted those to his mk3 saloon 8) bling-tastic!

Hope that helps, Pettsy

Thanx for the info Pettsy...

Ah ha, so the correct tyre size to prevent any scrubbage is 185/50/14 ?

I'm sure i read somewhere on here that someone use's some 55's ?!
(maybee they do, but also maybee they dont wanna go as low as i do)

That would have been with 13" wheels

with 185/50/14's ur wheels look like theyre tiny in standard arches, but that just means you can go LOOOOW!

ive got -40mm Gmax springs & shocks on my mk3.
they look ok, hopefully a bit better when i get lower profile tyres on my P's!

As for the Gmax kit, its ok, a bit stiff so sometimes a bumpy ride, but all in all good. Plus i got mine cheap so thats y they seem so much better!

Hopefully I'm getting some FK konigsport coilovers for my project. They combintation of height and damper adjustment should allow me to get the ideal setup. :D

i think my springs are g-max which lowers about 40mm! my car still feels wolloey on the standard shocks so my advice to anyone who wants lowered suspension, get shocks as well as springs! will improve the handling no end!

got the g-max shox minus springs. 150 to the door. if u want springs aswell, about 175 all in.

the lowering spring cups are not in production anymore, so... miffed :(

the lowering top mounts dont come with the bearings, and @ 47quid... miffed again:(

to cap it all off... the top mounts didnt arrive yet, and ive been invoiced for them!

can i get away with chopping a coil from the rear spris to obtain my desired ride height? (Aktive 40mm springs)

finally... managed to source some 239mm scirocco calipers :D
just Need to get some decent discs / pads and im up n running ;)

Pettsy where did you get your powerflex anti roll bar bushes?
How do you fit them?
Does that price include front and back?
thanks
