Hi guys,

happened 2 times to see little of smoke (cigarette like) from lower part of
engine compartment and smells burnt which invades the cockpit.

That occurred to:

- go out slowly from a sloping ramp (to avoid car hits ground)
- park along a steep descent

In both cases I think motor was stressed because I had to use 1st/reverse gears with high rpm to move quite sloowly.

Smoke burnt need at least 1 hour to disappeared. :|

Oil changed with VW long life 1 month ago.

Why you think that happened?

PS Car has 60k kilometers or 37k miles.

Sounds like a burnt clutch.

If you were using high revs to move quite slowly you must have been slipping the clutch which will create the smell of burning and often smoke, the bonus will be a worn out clutch. DONT DO IT! Keep the revs down and clutch engaged, alternatively start saving up to have a new clutch fitted and to pay for taxis whilst the garage repace the dead clutch.

As I said that happened few times in 2 years. Now that I know the problem I'll be carefull in those rare conditions.
