If I understand you correctly, you still have the H7 headlights installed (waiting for the Bixenon headlights to arrive)... :?: thank you very much for the speed in replying, you are really helpful to me. anyway I had the h7 but today I mounted the bixenon. my current situation is this: bixenon installed, RLS sensor installed and blackout mirror installed.
wiring for car switch installed
switch on car goes nothing
switch on positions does not go anything
switch on headlights go the low beams
with the lever I can flash but the fixed high beams do not go

In such a case:

If I misunderstood you, we re-encode based on your instructions/information.

the first thing I did after installing the bmc 090 was to copy the old encoding and re-encode the remote which now works correctly.
I hope I explained myself well, if you need more information I will be more precise/i]

In this Autoscan  https://www.uk-polos.net/viewtopic.php?p=589273#p589273, I think that you did not transfer the codings from your old BCM and GW to the new one 090B, as indicated in the link I posted to ross-tech for BCM replacement, that is why I requested the Autoscan with the old BCM 087.

We will code the BCM 090B again once the Bixenon headlights are installed.

I entered the codes as you told me and now everything goes but the LEDs do not work yet and I have the light of the bulb on
I followed the guide for graylscott in the following way:
SB5 (15A), new 1,5mm2 wire from 5a to T73a/2 BCM black connector. Low Beam Left
SB27 (15A), new 1,5 mm2 wire from 27a to T73b/2 BCM white connector. Low Beam Right
Remove SB28a wire and add/splice/crimp a new 0.5 mm2 wire to the removed wire. Carry this new wire up to T73a/62 BCM black connector.
Reinstall the SB28a original wire in its slot/place.

Reversing Light.
I still have to make the change for the reverse gear cable because in my t5 the green/black cable is not in t73b/12

I apologize for my unprofessional English

I apologize for my unprofessional English
The LED module in Bixenon headlight has two functions, daytime running light (brighter) -TFL- , and side/parking light (less bright) -58L/58R-.

Two possible causes of non-operation:
1- Either it is not well wired. They must be two new wires according to the diagram. viewtopic.php?p=528541#p528541
Warning!: you cannot use the original wire for side/parking light from Halogen headlight T10 connector - this wire must be insulated -, still operational for rear side/parking lights (in taillights).
2- Either the BCM is not parameterized for Bixenon headlights, which can be fixed by editing the values with VCP. In this thread someone posted the appropriate values.

Regarding the reverse light:
You have to remove and insulate the wire that goes to the taillight connector for the reverse light.
Install a new 0.5mm2 wire from T73b/12 to the connector/slot for the reverse light.

A little question:
Was your T5 built with a Start/Stop system from the factory (Bluemotion)?

The battery regulator directly influences the behavior of lights and other systems.

Once the matter of the number plate lights has been solved (well done)... have you checked the operation of all the lights included in the tail lights? Once checked, you should verify that there are no related DTCs in the scan.

There is a possible solution for "low beam" faults in your Replica headlights. I suppose that your Osram LED bulbs are without drive unit, which is very low consumption, installing LEDs with a drive unit will not cause these faults.
E.g (just to visualize it, - my wife's Golf -): viewtopic.php?p=563461#p563461
They were tests that I did to know what people were installing in their Golf MK7. It currently has the original MATRIX LED headlights installed.

I also did tests with the Scirocco HBA mirror before installing the T6 HBA mirror.
I recommend installing the T6 HBA mirror (works perfectly or better 👌), please take a look at my 6R autoscan for references (mirror and RLHS). https://www.uk-polos.net/viewtopic.php?p=503577#p503577
I do not know if having activated channel 53 in the BCM your Scirocco HBA mirror will work correctly. You get the symbol on the IC, but...
Hiya Ciclo,

I hope you had a great day yesterday :)

To answer your questions:

All functions are present front and rear, including the Number plate LED lights. This is a great result, thank you. I didn't get the chance to test at night yesterday due to large amounts of Peroni but will let you know how it goes. The Auto lights are working with LH so that shows the RLS and lights are talking.

There are no new DTCs relating to lighting, Only the 2x faults for the front Low Beams, which are likely due to the Osram LEDs. When I get the chance, I'll grab a current autoscan.

Image

The Osram LEDs (H7 XTR PX26d) do have an external driver. These have been fitted for testing to see how they operate and if they are actually any good. I am not upset that there are faults stored for these on the BCM but will get the fault symbol on the IC resolved so it is not visually present.

The opportunity was present to replace my windscreen with one that has the mount for the T5.1 RLS. This is where the FLA retrofit became born as a side project. I will test on both CAN lines and see which has a functional result. If it does become troublesome then I will explore replacing the windscreen again with a T6 RLS mount. I would prefer to keep the RLS etc "period specific" so it is correct for the year of the van but if it won't function then it is pointless LOL

It was not. The 7E0 BCM came with the Battery regulation so as another side project, I am exploring adding the monitor to the starter battery and in time, I wish to upgrade my alternator to the 180a output version anyway so may change to the smart alternator. it is all LIN so not difficult to add. Will likely need the voltage stabiliser too, otherwise the driving may be interesting! LOL

This is all a fantasy right now, not sat down to check over the diagram and operation of the system. I want to have AGM batteries so makes sense to have them charge correctly.

Got it, thanks for the clarification.
There is a way to get rid of the battery regulator from the GW Installation list in case you need it...

In my fantasies, I also tried/installed a battery regulator (with LIN connection) in my 6R (7L3) without the "voltage stabilizer" indicated in the diagrams, and experienced malfunctions (sporadic errors) in the automatic light system, also in the radio-navigation system, although there were no malfunctions related to the voltage regulator/alternator.
Finally the battery regulator was removed as the voltage stabilizer was not going to be installed, everything worked perfectly again. 😅

Great to know that my BCM coding for the T6.1 LED taillights (Byte 27, 18) also worked correctly with no faults detected. 8) 👍

If you want, try this new BCM coding, maybe we'll get lucky and get rid of the "low beam" faults.

Ah yeah, the CH function is semi-automatic.
- Ignition switch OFF, pull from the HB lever once, open the door and the lights will turn on.

---

The way to get rid of address 61 from the GW installation list:

Code: Select all

- Enable address 61 in Gateway installation list.
- Go to address 61 and code all Bytes to 00.
- Return to GW installation list and disable the address 61.
- Go to Autoscan and Click on Gateway installation list button.
- Click on Clear All DTCs.

The address 61 should no longer be present in the Autoscan.

Most of the codes were from having the BCM unplugged.

I also tested different CAN locations for the J844 and it is functional when I can't talk to it so will be leaving it there for now until I decide what to do with the windscreen/sensor. I am thinking of sourcing the 5K0 mirror to see if that solves the issue.

As a side note, the camera unit HW (8J0857511C) is an Audi TT part number, interesting.

I currently have no interior illumination when on Auto and only partial illumination (IC and Climate controls) when on dipped beam but I am awaiting the arrival of the dimmer switch. I will correct this once the part is in hand.

Ignoring the above, this has been an overwhelming success as I have full light functionality including full auto lights. Again, thank you.

I have noticed that I don't have the auto wipers function but I have yet to have the time to look at the coding for that yet.

What interesting things do you have planned next for your vehicles?

Hi Viperslider, I hope the same for you too!
My week is going perfect if we don't go into the small details...

Well, everything is as expected as far as your Autoscans are concerned.

Trust me, install the HBA T6 (PQ25) mirror, it is parameterized for the PQ25 and works like a charm through the CAN lines of the instrument cluster, you will avoid unnecessary trouble with the rest of the mirror-cameras that you mention.
Here is the latest Autoscan of my 6R for the mirror-camera and RLHumidityS references. viewtopic.php?p=589357#p589357

Please keep us informed of your progress regarding the solution of the interior lights (Dimmer) and the auto wipers function.

As for my cars:
- For the 6R I have a project for the spring, but I don't reveal my projects until I have the parts in my hands and I have done a little preliminary study, however, you can see the latest updates on the last page of my 6R thread (link above).
- For my wife's golf I am finishing the winter project which will lead to the spring project. At the end of this week I start with the tests of 5 models of heated multifunction steering wheels. viewtopic.php?p=589175#p589175

Hiya Ciclo,

I try often to ignore small details that ruin the bigger picture. I often fail to ignore them fully too LOL

Later I will see if I can lay my hands on a T6 mirror unit with camera. I hesitate as I have only just replaced the windscreen and would like to avoid replacing it again as this one isn't damaged (yet lol) and would like to avoid removing the current mount as it would need replacing.

Interior lights have been restored. I was getting zero output from T73b4 (as per diagrams) so swapped it to another suitable feed and they are now functional. I have also resolved the auto wipers. In my haste to get the RLS working, I told it to keep the rain functions inactive LOL. Not very often I make mistakes in such a way but sometimes I am reminded that I am human.

Today I noticed that with your coding, my tail lights are no longer controlled by PWM, could I get more information on why? Just curious as my tail lights are 100% LED and I'm interested in this small change.

Another little change I noticed today, there is a new (to me) coding option in VCDS (Byte 29 Bit 6) that is labelled "MQB Multi-Function-Steering-wheel (MFSW) Installed (via Sounder-LIN instead of Door-LIN)" This seems interesting!

I will follow your work, it is very exciting and also fits in with my work and hobby :)

Hi Viperslider.

The mistakes made are the beginning of a possible improvement.

T73b/4
Image

Since you mentioned that you did not have the Dimmer installed, I preferred not to encode it until later results. This does not exempt me from being involved and guilty of "0volts" in T73b/4. Forgiveness.🙏🤭

In this Bit I also attribute the discovery, or at least the first to post something about it. We did tests but it is necessary that the ECU (engine) support CCS/ACC - Euro6 -. (not for 6R until some 6R engine of a model sold in russia in 2018/19?)
It came in handy for a few geniuses who retrofitted the ACC on their T5s. If I remember correctly, it includes flashing the ABS unit and ECU with the proper firmware for ACC.

Cris-87 wrote: Sat Feb 19, 2022 7:12 pm I entered the codes as you told me and now everything goes but the LEDs do not work yet and I have the light of the bulb on
I followed the guide for graylscott in the following way:

The LED module in Bixenon headlight has two functions, daytime running light (brighter) -TFL- , and side/parking light (less bright) -58L/58R-.

Two possible causes of non-operation:
1- Either it is not well wired. They must be two new wires according to the diagram. viewtopic.php?p=528541#p528541

I had already wired as shown in the diagram

Warning!:
you cannot use the original wire for side/parking light from Halogen headlight T10 connector - this wire must be insulated -, still operational for rear side/parking lights (in taillights). so I have to isolate the cables of the side parking lights from the t10 connector that went to the halogen headlight? in what position is this cable?[/i]
2- Either the BCM is not parameterized for Bixenon headlights, which can be fixed by editing the values with VCP. In this thread someone posted the appropriate values.

Regarding the reverse light:
You have to remove and insulate the wire that goes to the taillight connector for the reverse light.
Install a new 0.5mm2 wire from T73b/12 to the connector/slot for the reverse light.

I will make this change this weekend when I have more time

thanks for the support, I hope to see everything working soon :D

Hi Cris-87.

You say this:
- I had already wired as shown in the diagram.

and then you ask this:
- so I have to isolate the cables of the side parking lights from the t10 connector that went to the halogen headlight? in what position is this cable?

¯\(°_o)/¯

T10/10 is side/parking light on both halogen headlight connectors.

If you installed the kufatec adapter wiring (T10-T14) and it is the correct wiring for your T5, this T10/10 wire is already isolated.
Note: I don't have to know how the kufatec wiring is built. 🤭
