Hi guys, in the next week or so I’m looking to do the modification of adding a light in the glovebox of the wifes 2016 Blue GT.

Just a quick question or two. Firstly I have the light already (from eBay) but need to source the correct VW wiring connector, does anyone know the part number of this please .

Secondly, where do you tap the 12v from to ensure it only works with ignition on please ?

i'd take the ignition live from the fuse box.

Thanks both. One final question please. If I have to remove the discover media unit from inside the glovebox before I can remove the box itself, does this cause any issues when plugging it back in. I know in the old days, stereo units used to ask you for a Pin code to get them working again. Can I assume that the unit is already "registered" with the CAN Gateway, therefore when plugging it back in again should automatically re-activate it ?

that is correct. don't worry.

- Light available since the car is opened.
- The battery will never drain in case of failure (light or switch) or by leaving the lid open when closing the car.
- BCM protection.
