Would this work in my 2012 polo? Is it just as simple as remove the old headunit and swapping in the new one?

Yes it would work. I looked into one of these for the tiguan. Its a very good choice for OE with carplay and the price is attractive.

You might need an aerial adapter cable if they dont include it as the polo has different connectors

That one looks genuine. You can generally tell by how it looks. The fakes have a shinier finish

These models are 6Rx 035 187x and somehow the naming is bit confusing -330G, 330G Plus and 340G and so does features.
