So my polo has started to make a very loud bass noise on the driver side speaker, like theres no music coming out of it just a thudding sound! However the passenger side speaker works fine!. What does this mean? How can I fix I? I’ve turned down the bass in the setting on my stereo but that hasn’t worked it still making a thudding noise! Send help

Might be worthwhile removing the door card/trim panel and having a look at the speaker,sometimes they deteriorate with age and the 'cone' splits/cracks.I guess it could also be a wiring problem but if it was me I would have a look at the speaker condition first,as it is probably quite old.
From memory - if the car still has original speakers fitted - they were 'pop' rivetted to the door but they are easy to drill out if you do have to replace the speaker - best to keep drill speed slow with a new/sharp twist drill and just drill the rivet head off,ie try not to drill right through the rivet if possible.
