Hi Gti people,

My Polo 6n2 Gti has developed an issue whereas central locking unlocks yet won't lock.. ..will try the pump board clean-up as described on another thread, yet was wondering if any other owners have experienced similar problem and if there's a known fix?

Have you checked for leaks in the pneumatic system? They are prone to leaking and not building enough pressure to operate the locks. Look around the petrol cap lock for airline leaks there, it's not uncommon.

I had a similar problem mate, there was a split in the small pipe that goes to petrol cap, I fixed that and it works fine

Guess what I didn't know? VW Key fobs take 2 x batteries, I only replaced one the other day with a cheap battery (lesson learned).. opened the fob up again this evening to fit a Duracell and found that there is actually another battery place directy under a thin metal plate...changed both batteries and now central locking is working fine! Must be one battery for close and the other for open???????? Anyway, all fine now, thanks for the help anyway people!

some keys are 2 batteries, others are 1. It just depends on the year of the car.
