Hi guys , now this is strange .. changed my ignition barrel which is a simple job and after it was all back together it worked as it should , apart from the CD player .. so I figured ah blew a fuse so checked both fuses (cd player and car) and they are fine , checked all wires+earth e.t.c and good . Tried 2 other aftermarket cd players as I assumed I blew the unit and no luck ... However the original tape player and another original cd player from my other polo both work !!?? So getting power and even earthed the player as I understand some aftermarket players need another earth to chassis , ,, so wireing good , fuses good .. any ideas ?

Vehicle is a 2001 vw polo saloon 110 TDI

What CD player do you have - in dash or in boot?

These CD changers are notorious for being unreliable

Have you changed the ignition switch? Sounds like the 15 terminal on the ignition switch has an issue
