Access to Reverse Light Switch - SOLVED

Hello Everyone,

I need to check the wires coming out of of the reverse light switch because only the left reverse lamp is working. I have confirmed that the right side bulb is not busted and that there is no electricity coming out of the wire/connector. My first question is: do I access the reverse light switch from the top when I open the bonnet or I have to go under the car? My transmission is automatic. Thanks.

I am still trying to find the reverse light switch. My transmission code JUF. How is the reverse light switch connected to the circuit, in series or parallel? If I still have one of the reverse lights working am I looking at the wrong component?

The 9N3 only has one reverse light. The drivers side is the fog light and has a red filter

You are the best, alexperkins! Thank you so much.
I have never seen a car with only one reverse lamp so I thought the driver side was broken.
I was able to activate the rear fog lamp by putting the knob in headlight position and pulling it, then the driver side lamp that I thought was a reverse lamp magically glowed! :)

My pleasure. Most VWs only have one :)
