I sometimes get a message 'BATTERY LOW' displayed on the radio screen on my 2014 1.4 Polo Match if I turn the radio on without switching on the ignition, what battery? car one or a radio one? If the car one would a good 100 mile run (like I am doing tomorrow) solve it or make it worse!!??

Car batteries are subject to wear and tear. But it could also be the battery of your key/remote, mine gives a notification of that as well.
