Hi. I drive a 1.4l 2001 5 door Polo and have a problem with the locking. The driver’s door has always had a problem where the key won’t turn in the lock so I always have to use the passenger’s door to lock and unlock. I went to unlock it this morning and the key turns to the left as if to unlock but nothing happens. The only way I could get into the car was by unlocking the boot and getting in that way. After a while I could get the car to lock with the key but it won’t unlock at all. On the inside of the driver’s door next to the electric window controls there is a central locking button which as of today won’t do anything. Any ideas as I can’t unlock my car without climbing in the boot. Thanks

Your pump has has probably suffered water damage as most of them due do a poor design. It’s behind the drivers side rear light. Pull it out and pop the brown or grey or black cover off the back and check the circuit board for green corrosion.
