Windshield bottom cover

I have a 2001 Polo 6n2 which I bought in Saudi and brought to Turkey. Because the model I bought was not made for Turkey, it is made for UK, Russia and Gulf Countries, cannot find some parts here. Some of the parts are different than the ones installed on locally sold cars. As an example for taillight unit I had to wait 45 days to get it from Spain where the Polo manufacturing base is. Moreover I cannot find part numbers for these parts in the local dealer workshop catalogues. Like when my exhaust manifold got busted the local VW dealer was not able to find the exact part in the cataogues they have and I had to refer to Ebay UK.

Now I have a new problem and here for the last 3 months they are trying to find a part number for the windshield bottom cover and result is nada. What they found was two part shields for the cars sold in different areas and they are not compatible as size or even holes.

That's the picture of it, totally cracked and looking really bad;

I will appreciate if someone gives me the part number for it so I can place an order... Thanks in advance

What if you take it out and have a look at any numbers written on it? Usually the part number are on the part itself, especially such a large part.

I had a close look that that picture and it looks like that part is made of rubber and I don't think that it would survive removing to look for a number, and if it is just moulded rubber then I'd doubt if it would have a number embedded into it.

Though I am willing to be wrong.

Where there any regional variations like the OP is suggesting, I am sure that there were, but not including UK with Russia and Saudi.

Maybe have a look on this parts listing:- https://volkswagen.7zap.com/en/rdw/

Thats the lower cover that snaps into the rubber section, that covers the scuttle and the wiper arms go through. The rubber piece is a seperate part that locks into the windscreen frame that the bits you linked to clip into :)

I think 6N1 854 341 E might be the right part number and will check that part number with local dealers toöorrow.

Taking out of the part is not easy because the rubber lost it's elasticity and became brittle, any attempt will shatter it into many pieces. I thought about removing the shield and create a plaster mould using it. That way I was planning to pour Basf liquid rubber into the mould and have a new home made shield but it looks so fragile so I don't have the courage to remove it.

It’s no longer available to order - the part number has been dropped. It’s possible your dealer can do a search to see if anyone has one on a dusty shelf somewhere. You’ll need the full part number including the B41

It clips into a trim underneath the windscreen and that part is probably intact
