Wipers Not Working Properly

HI, for the last month my car wipers seem to be having some problems.

I have a VW polo 53 reg with a 9n BBY engine.
So basically the wipers dont come on immediately when I try turning them on. to turn them on if i leave the stalk in the high speed position the wipers start after around 5 minutes, then i can move stalk to different settings. if i move the stalk to any other position it works, but in the intermittent setting it only works a few times before the sieze working again.

I have got 2 motors from the scrappy and both have the exact issue so appears fault elsewhere.

Any one have any suggestions, also if it is a relay what is the relay code i need to look for? and how do i go about removing the steering wheel with airbag safely.

TIA
Joe

FIXED:

Turned out the body control module was faulty, replaced and all good

Good for you to get that sorted out and to come back and report what the fix was.

I did not post to your thread as I did not have much help to give, but there have been a few people with this sort of problem, or even continuous running of the wipers of these Polo, Fabia, Ibiza forums so with the switch stalk, or wiper motor and as you found the BCM being possible candidates, getting it right first time is not easy.

Ideal glad you sorted it buddy, did your new bcm require coding or was it a straight swap? I'm in the same boat at the moment tried 2 motors from scrappy and an indicator stalk the bcm is all that's left.

A year too late, but bcm was a straight swap, think i paid £45 to scrapyard for it
