New multicolor voltmeter with two Super fast charging USB sockets.

Image

Image
I imagine it will fit with at least one of the colors of my ambient lights...
The charging speed depends on the battery level of the device, it is inversely proportional.

Easy to install, no adaptation or coding is necessary with ODIS, VCDS, VCP, etc... 🤭

So I have 6 USB charging sockets available... this is crazy!
- Two type A in the front with connection/data transmission via USB Hub.
- Two type A for Super fast charging in the middle.
- Two type C for those beings that go in the rear seats.
... + the wireless charger.

I'm looking forward to starting the DCC installation but winter is not a time for fun undercarriage work.

Golf 7.5 Ready2Go. Unladen position. Measurements. "Test_Front_axle".⚠️

---
According to erWin:
Caution!
Image
---

It is necessary to simulate this 'normal' position with special tools -T10149- (and other 'artifacts'🤭) when the vehicle is on lifting platforms
in order to perform the required tightening on the bolts/nuts.

Image

Reference heights/dimensions for Golf7.5 Hatchback! (non-state or other models):

Front axle.
Image

Rear axle.
Image
In erWin you can find the dimensions for the rest of the models or equipment/trim (state, GTI, R, etc).
---

Raising suspension/wheel bearing assembly to unladen position (vehicles with coil springs).

The correct procedure for 'lifting platforms' is explained in erWin.

The usual thing is that 'normal' users do not have lifting platforms stored in the drawers of the house or garage/storage rooms,
so I am going to do a 'check test' with a hard rubber block on the front axle to determine if it is possible to achieve that 'unladen/normal' position if the vehicle is on jack stands.
I don't check the rear axle because it is easy and simple.

To do this, I make a video for all my friends and opponents/adversaries...😅

Video    https://www.youtube.com/embed/Md8MhKuA3 ... autoplay=1

Explanatory images of the test:

Conclusion:

- IMHO, it is preferable that the bonded rubber bushes can be twisted slightly shortening their life time,
rather than losing your life, suffering serious personal injury or die, trying to properly torque these bolts/nuts.

I believe without fear of being wrong that the vast majority of mechanics in this world do not apply torque correctly for these tasks.
Achieving that 'unladen position exactly' by overcoming the spring force and 'the weight of the vehicle' is very dangerous.🤷‍♂️

To test...

🤷‍♂️

Previously/info  viewtopic.php?t=79094

Remember that most of today's combustion vehicles will end up in a scrap yard sooner rather than later, so money will have to be spent appropriately.🤭

edit...

Test:

Image

Image

Image

- Very nice/updated cover cap.
- Fits perfectly (66mm) on the 'Linas' rims, there is no play or movement.
- It is extremely easy to scratch it, micro swirls are produced just by touching it, it is not easy to see the micro swirls once the wheel is installed.

I don't think micro swirls scare away dogs.🤔...😅

edit...(the next day).

Once another Test has been carried out, which I will post when I have time to edit the video, I measure the length of the twelve-point head bolt for threaded connections of drive shaft installed at the factory.
Image
I renew the bolt (erWin) even if the factory installed bolt appears to be in perfect condition.

Golf7.5 Loosening and tightening the front axle bolt (in the middle of nowhere). TEST!

Image

Preface:
I had thought about making a video to show you how to loosen and above all 'tighten' the bolts/nuts of the front/rear axles to the indicated torque in which hardly any force is needed.
I guess I'll do that another time, I should have enough NEW axle bolts for my DCC project.

During the preparation of the test I decided to test previously without any conviction (thinking that I would not be successful) an old tool forgotten in the storage room, so the video is finally based on this old but endearing tool.

Preconditions:
- Brake system in good/normal operating condition.
- Assistance from a second mechanic (image below).

Golf 7.5 How to install the front shock absorber in the wheel bearing assembly/housing/hub. Easily!

Image

Video    https://www.youtube.com/embed/ZUZmvqoPW ... autoplay=1
🎶

Dedicated with special affection to all the YouTubers, etc 🤭... who spent/wasted a lot of time/hours hammering the wheel bearing hub 🐵🤦‍♂️(totally prohibited), removed the drive shaft 🙊🙆‍♂️(unnecessary) and those who invented the dangerous procedure of the stick wood.🙈😂

I guess they didn't have the happy and easy idea of spending a maximum of five minutes to remove the wheel bearing hub at the same time that they removed the shock absorber/suspension strut, to later install the shock absorber/suspension strut already assembled/joined to the wheel bearing hub.
Removing the brake caliper and disc is only 3-5 bolts/5-7 minutes. 🤷‍♂️

IMHO, 'check' vehicle geometry/wheel alignment should be mandatory in any case, the geometry changes whenever any work is performed on the suspension/damping system, including the installation of new tires.

In my free time I will be building my DCC wiring (intermediate sections), so it will take me enough time for the spring weather to arrive so I can install them outdoors in the middle of nowhere. Being accidentally born on the dark side does not have to be an obstacle to doing things right.
Installing the mechanical part is as simple as following the repair manual or 'some' YT video tutorials.

Golf 7.5 DCC Project. Wiring. Engine/Front area. Wheel Arches_Plenum Chamber_TIUL.

I bought the DCC original wiring looms for the front wheel arches  viewtopic.php?p=597574#p597574, whose main quality is that they are perfectly sealed.

The problem is that in addition to the wiring for the shock absorb valves and level sensors, these original new harnesses also include the wiring for the speed sensors and for brake pad wear, which involves working on the wiring-connector of the ABS pump.
To avoid working on the ABS pump wiring, I take the parts that interest me from these new original wiring harnesses and make my own wiring harnesses with only the parts dedicated to the shock absorb valves and level sensors for my DCC project.

I also manufactured the wiring dedicated to the 2 front acceleration sensors since it will be integrated along with the right wheel arch wiring to run it to TIUL.

So that the new wiring that I will install remains completely waterproof, I use Sealing Heat Shrink Tube of different sizes depending on the thickness of the wiring/wire. The sealing is done by hot melt adhesive on the inside of the tube.
These tools will facilitate the work of manufacturing this type of wiring:

Final result.

How I finally thought about passing the wiring from the wheel arch to the engine area.

The brake pipe hole is very tempting, but I decided to do it like this:

Excess wiring that is no longer necessary.
Image
The connectors indicated on the right side of the image above are upside down. I apologize, I didn't dwell too much on these cables/wires that will be thrown in the trash or recycled.🤭

I could have made a video with music, but since there are people who do not understand that music improves their intellectual abilities, I only took images for all types of brains.🤷‍♂️

Golf 7.5 DCC project. Wiring. Exterior rear area. 'Couplings' for new original wiring harnesses.

I also bought these new original rear harnesses.
Each side of the new original wiring harnesses is made up of the wires for the electric parking brake, speed sensor and shock absorber valve.

To facilitate the installation of these harnesses, I will remove/cut the factory wiring harnesses and attach the new wiring harnesses to the factory wiring using connectors/couplings on the inside where the rear seats are located.

Left side (before).

Couplings for the left side (after).

Couplings for the right side.

I guess all the excess is to get to TIU'R' -> ABS pump.

Before proceeding with the installation of my DCC project, I was planning to do a deep clean of the front wheel arches and rear torsion axle of our Golf (dust and other debris), but if it has to rain, it will rain, I can't put doors/gates to heaven so that I can continue with my fun DCC project. :)
Weather forecasts point to a continued series of storms, which is fine for the aquifers circumstances.
