tick over speed 9n3 1.416v poss to low

Hi all
any idea what tick over speed should be on 2005 9n3 1.4 16v petrol ,
its on about 700 when warmed up , if to low is there a adjuster screw

That sounds to be okay, there is no simple way to set up or alter the tick over speed like in a carb, it would need to be carried out using something like VCDS and then changing a field value.

Sounds about right to me too. Cannot recall what mine is exactly but think it's somewhere around 650-700 once warmed up.

I guess it varies a little with engine type,ours is an AUB,this picture taken today.
This is a link to a thread on the skoda forum - I have not read it all but Wino posted this list of engine codes and idle speeds,assuming they are similar to polo specs.

Ah, my BBY is an auto box which might explain the slightly lower tickover.

I would imagine that a lower idle speed on an Auto is quite desirable - cuts down on the 'Thump' and 'Creep' when drive is selected.
