Boot lock - replacement - part and source

My boot lock needs replacing. I was wondering if anyone knows
a. the part number
b. whether there are any decent non Vw replacements around.
I have seen various ones on the internet but would rather use a 'brand' that others have used on here.
any suggestions appreciated.
