Heater Matrix Replacement

Hi all, new here and have a job to do on my daughters 2003 1.4tdi Twist.
Searched but cannot find any links or guides on how to replace the heater matrix. Had fluid leak in to passenger footwell so bypassed matrix in engine bay and now no problems.
Am I right in this diagnosis and can anyone help with some how to advice.
