Door light doesn't come on

The red door lights on the bottom of the door doesn't come on when I open the door. The Reading/Cabin lights do ok....any ideas?

Are you getting any power at the bulbs ?
On our car I had to buy a couple of good replacements from ebay.
They were cheap enough,but I had already checked for power at the bulb holder using a multimeter.

Likely broken microswitches in the door locks - youll know because the cabin light wont work automatically when opening the door

same problem as the mk4 golf's then...expensive too

In your first post - you said that the interior light does work ok so it may not be a door lock microswitch if you are lucky (unless I read that wrong ?).
